Arzu, Ms. Rose
Who Am I...
Dear Parents, Students and Colleagues -
I have taught in Chicago Public schools for 26 years. I am currently positioned as a Special Education Science Teacher in the Science Department at Roosevelt High School.
During this time, I have served CPS Students as a Bilingual (Spanish) Teacher; a specialist for students with exceptional needs; Science Teacher at the middle and high school levels, teaching Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
I hold a B.S. in Biology, a M. Ed in English as a second Language, M.Ed. in Special education and School Leadership.
By applying to my School’s LSC as a teacher representative, I hope to continue to serve with a spirit to grow, application of my experience, knowledge and abilities contributing alongside the Roosevelt LSC cohort to serve my school community.
By serving and contributing as a teacher representative to my Local school Council at Roosevelt High School, I am looking for an opportunity to continue providing quality education and access where every child can achieve, contribute and thrive.
My leadership philosophy is that of a transformational Leader- working with various teams to identify needed change, increasing capacity and voice to committed members and those affected. I also consider myself a servant leader- using well tenured skills such as listening, good communication, empathy and an awareness both culturally and linguistically- sharing the many experiences, that many of our student continue to experience, like learning English and dealing with all that come with Immersing oneself into a new culture and language.
I look forward to continue adding my contributions to this Local School Council and my experience as a learner and educator.
